What is the Rental Assistance default option?

Understanding the Rental Assistance option when filing a default claim

Sometimes life happens, unforeseen expenses come up, and people get behind on their rent – we get it. If a OneApp Guarantee covered resident needs a little extra help getting back on their feet, we offer a 'Rental Assistance' option you can select when filing a default claim.

Here's everything you need to know.

How does rental assistance work?

If a OneApp Guarantee resident defaults on their lease, you have the option to request rental assistance on their behalf and we can cover 75% of the resident's rent for 2-months

What are the requirements for rental assistance?

  • The resident must have already paid their co-signing fee in full.
  • The resident must be at least 2-months behind on their rent.

⚠️ Please Note: You cannot submit additional default claims for residents if rental assistance is provided.

How do I submit a claim for rental assistance?

Follow the steps in this Property Hub article and select 'Rental Assistance' as the reason for your default claim.
